Sky View

Sky View shows a map of the night sky plotted using the  Galactic Coordinate System.  In this view the galactic core is in the center of the view with the plane of the Galaxy running horizontally across the center.  Objects in the upper part of the map are in the northern galactic hemisphere and objects in the lower part are in the southern galactic hemisphere.

You can zoom in and out of the SkyView by using the zoom buttons in the toolbar.  When zoomed in, you can pan around using a drag gesture.

The Sky View always plots stars 5th magnitude or brighter.  In addition, any objects that are visible in Galaxy View are also plotted in Sky View.  You can select a particular object by tapping on or clicking it.
