With release 1.8, it is now possible to use Jurtle to program the LEGO MindStorms Robotics System. After downloading the LeJOS replacement operation system for the RCX brick, you can program your robots using Java rather than the limited visual language that comes standard with MindStorms.

Compiling for LeJOS is just as easy as compiling standard Java code. When the Use LeJOS checkbox is checked, Jurtle will invoke the LeJOS compiler rather than the standard Java compiler. Next, just click the Run button to download the compiled code to the RCX brick and you are ready to try your new creation.
